Reservation Process: As a reminder, all reservations must be booked by Friday, June 21, 2024. After this date, it is at the hotel’s discretion whether to accept additional reservations which will be subject to prevailing rate and availability.

You may also call the hotel at 301-822-9200 to make your hotel reservation. When you make your reservation, tell them you need the discounted rate for the US International Kuo Shu Championship Tournament.

Transportation Information

There are three major airports in the Washington, DC region closest to the tournament site at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center at 5701 Marinelli Rd, Rockville, MD 20852. They are Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Below, you’ll find detailed information on transportation options from each airport to the tournament site.

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)

  • Distance from Marriott: 38 miles
  • Transportation by USKSF:
    • Transportation requests for Thu (7/11), Fri (7/12) and Mon (7/15) can be made through the USKSF Online Access Portal for $25/person. Transportation requests MUST be made by May 31, 2024. Transportation requests made after this date will NOT be accepted. The purpose of setting this date is to allow time for scheduling pickups, so please remember to submit transportation requests early!
    • Requests will be processed on a first come first serve basis. The USKSF will determine whether to provide transportation service based on demand. If there isn’t sufficient demand, the USKSF reserves the right to not provide transportation service between BWI and the Marriott.
    • We will contact you via email to let you know whether your transportation request can be met and whether the transportation will be provided by a bus service or by volunteers. You should get the confirmation no later than 11:00 pm EST on Monday, 7/1/2024. If you do not provide your email address, we will not be able to contact you. Any questions regarding transportation can be directed to transportation@usksf.org
    • Transportation to BWI (after the Tournament): All trips to BWI airport will depart from the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. If you are in another hotel, you are responsible for your own transportation to the Marriott. You are responsible for using the transportation service at a time that will get you to the airport with sufficient time to check in and clear airport security. Times for arrival vary by airline, but you should plan to arrive 1.5 to 2 hours before your flight. TRAVEL TIME FROM THE MARRIOTT HOTEL TO THE AIRPORT WILL TAKE LONGER IN RUSH HOUR.
  • Public transportation: BWI has a free shuttle service to the nearby MARC/Amtrak station. From there, take Amtrak to Union Station. Walk 5 minutes to the Metrorail Union Station and take the Red line towards Shady Grove. Get off at North Bethesda station. Walk for 0.1 mile to the hotel. Travel time from BWI airport to the hotel is approximately 2 hours. We will not pick you up from the rail station or bus stop. The USKSF will not reimburse you for travel arrangements made on your own.

 

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

  • Distance from Marriott: 27 miles
  • Metrorail Option: The Metrorail station at Dulles is connected to the main terminal by an indoor pedestrian tunnel. From Dulles airport, take the Silver line towards Downtown Largo, and switch to the Red line towards Shady Grove at Metro Center station. Get off at North Bethesda station. Walk for 0.1 mile to the hotel. Please consult Metrorail’s website Trip Planner for current train services, fares and operating hours. We will not pick you up from the rail station or bus stop. The USKSF will not reimburse you for travel arrangements made on your own.
  • Metrorail Travel Time: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

 

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

  • Distance from Marriott: 21 miles
  • Metrorail Option: The Washington, DC Metrorail system has an elevated Metrorail station connected to the concourse level of Terminal 2 Reagan National Airport. From National Reagan Airport, take the Blue line towards Downtown Largo, and switch to the Red line towards Shady Grove at Metro Center station. Get off at North Bethesda station. Walk for 0.1 mile to the hotel. An alternate route from National Reagan Airport is to take the Yellow line towards Mt Vernon Sq, and switch to the Red line towards Shady Grove at Gallery Place station. Get off at North Bethesda station. Please consult Metrorail’s website Trip Planner for current train services, fares and operating hours. We will not pick you up from the rail station or bus stop. The USKSF will not reimburse you for travel arrangements made on your own.
  • Metrorail Travel Time: Approximately 50 minutes.

 

Other options for transportation:

  • Commercial shuttle services (not associated with the USKSF shuttle system) are also available at the airport, cost unknown. The USKSF will not reimburse you for travel arrangements made on your own.
  • Some tournament participants have used Uber and Lyft as an alternative option for transportation. The USKSF will not reimburse you for travel arrangements made via these services.
